Did you know that one of the proposed routes ran right through Pheasant Run? Luckily, this route was taken off the table last week. The current proposed routes include one on either side of the parkway and one through Bowie near Bowie State. See the letter from State Senator Douglas J.J. Peters:
I have heard from many of you regarding your concerns that the proposed Superconducting MagLev train will run right through your neighborhood and in some cases your home. I want you to know that I share your concerns and am working with my Delegate Geraldine Valentino-Smith as well as involved citizens to ensure that our community remains unharmed.
Tuesday, October 24th at 5pm to 8pm there will be a meeting in the cafeteria at Laurel High School, 8000 Cherry Lane, Laurel, MD 20707. This open house will give you the opportunity to review and comment on issues including proposed routes and preliminary station information. It is critically important that you know how the MagLev train might impact you and that you be afforded the opportunity to make your position known.
I hope to see you at this event and urge you to share this information with your friends and neighbors as we work together on this issue.
It remains a great honor to represent our community in the Maryland Senate. If I can be of service to you or anyone you know please call my office at 301-858-3631, or email me at Douglas.Peters@senate.state.md.us.
